You can permanently delete your DaDa account and personal information at any time.
Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.
How to delete your account in the app
- Open DaDa and go to the Account tab.
- Tap Security & privacy.
- Tap Delete account.
- Re-enter your password and confirm. Your account is deleted straight away.
If you no longer have the app
Email support@dadalabs.net from an address we can verify
against your account (your recovery email), or include the mobile number your account uses, and we
will process the deletion for you. We may take reasonable steps to verify your identity before
deleting an account.
What is deleted
- Your account and profile, including your phone number, date of birth, postcode, university
details, and any other personal information on your profile.
- Your likes and poll votes.
- Your bookmarks and drafts.
What happens to your posts and communities
- Posts and replies you wrote are kept but anonymised — they are no longer
linked to you and are shown as authored by "Former member". This keeps conversations other people
took part in intact.
- Communities you own: a community where you are the only member is deleted;
a community with other members is transferred to another member (or handed to our team to
reassign) so it isn't lost for everyone else.
Information we may keep
After your account is deleted, we retain only limited information, in de-identified or aggregated
form, where we need it to:
- keep moderation and audit records accurate (with your identity removed);
- retain feedback or support messages you sent (with your identity removed); and
- meet our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and protect the safety and security of the
service — for example, to enforce a ban and prevent abuse.
We do not keep this information for longer than necessary for those purposes.
This is permanent. There is no grace period and deleted accounts cannot be
recovered. If you want to keep your data, do not delete your account.
For full details of how we handle your personal information, see our
Privacy Policy.
