Child safety standards

These standards set out how DaDa prevents, detects, and responds to child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), including child sexual abuse material (CSAM). They apply to the DaDa app on all platforms and to everyone who uses it.

1. DaDa is an adults-only service

DaDa is for adults aged 18 and over. Children are not permitted to use it at all. We enforce this at sign-up rather than relying on a self-declared tick box:

• Every new account must supply a date of birth, and an applicant under 18 is refused.
• The age check is repeated on our servers when the account is created, so an account cannot be created under 18 even by an app that has been tampered with.
• Sign-up requires a verified Australian mobile number, which limits anonymous and bulk account creation.
• If we learn that an account holder is under 18, we close the account.

Because no child may hold an account, contact between an adult and a child is not a supported use of DaDa, and any attempt to use the service to reach a child is a serious breach of these standards.

2. What is prohibited

The following are prohibited on DaDa, whether or not the material was created by the person sharing it, and whether it is shared publicly, inside a private community, or in a reply:

• Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) in any form — images, video, audio, drawings, computer-generated or AI-generated depictions, and text.
• Sexualising a child, or presenting a child in a sexualised way.
• Grooming, or any attempt to build a relationship with a child for sexual purposes.
• Soliciting, offering, requesting, or trading sexual content involving a child.
• Sextortion, and threatening to share intimate images of a child.
• Child trafficking, and advertising or arranging the sexual exploitation of a child.
• Linking to, describing where to find, or advertising any of the above, on DaDa or elsewhere.

Attempting any of the above is treated the same as doing it. This list adds to, and does not limit, the prohibitions in our Terms of Service.

3. How to report a child safety concern

Anyone using DaDa can report a child safety concern from inside the app, without leaving it:

• Report a person — open their profile, then choose Report.
• Report a post or reply — press and hold it, then choose Report from the menu.
• In both cases you choose a reason, describe what happened, and may attach a screenshot as evidence.
• You can also block a person so their content no longer reaches you, and contact our team through Support in the app.

If you cannot use the app, or you are not a DaDa user, email support@dadalabs.net. Please put "child safety" in the subject line so it is prioritised.

If a child is in immediate danger, call 000 (or your local emergency number) before contacting us.

4. How we respond

Child safety reports are prioritised above all other reports and are reviewed by a person, not only by automated means. When a report is upheld, we:

• remove the content, including any attached images, video, audio, and files;
• permanently ban the account involved — a child safety breach is not subject to our normal graduated penalties, and the ban is not lifted;
• preserve the relevant records — the content, the account details, and the report — so they are available to law enforcement; and
• refer the matter to the authorities (see section 5).

We also take steps to stop a banned person simply signing up again, including preventing the re-use of the mobile number the banned account was registered with.

We may act on our own initiative as well as on a report, and we may remove content or suspend an account while a report is being assessed.

5. Reporting to authorities

DaDa Labs Pty Ltd is an Australian company. Where we become aware of apparent child sexual abuse material or of conduct that sexually exploits a child, we report it to the relevant authorities. For Australia these are the Australian Centre to Counter Child Exploitation (ACCCE), operated by the Australian Federal Police, and the eSafety Commissioner. Where a report belongs somewhere else, we report to the appropriate national authority, and to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) where that is the correct channel.

We cooperate with lawful requests from law enforcement, and we do not require a user's consent before reporting suspected child sexual abuse or exploitation.

6. Compliance with the law

We comply with the child safety laws that apply to us, including the Commonwealth Online Safety Act 2021 and the Commonwealth Criminal Code Act 1995, and we comply with Google Play's Child Safety Standards policy and Apple's App Store guidelines. Nothing in these standards limits an obligation we have under law.

7. Point of contact

Our designated point of contact for child safety and CSAM prevention is the DaDa Labs support and moderation team, reachable at support@dadalabs.net. This address is monitored, and is the correct address for Google, for regulators, and for law enforcement as well as for users.

8. Keeping these standards current

We review these standards at least once a year, and whenever we change how DaDa works in a way that affects child safety. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated.
